Bamako/MALI : STORY REPORT FOR THE MONTH OF September 2016

Location:  Bamako/MALI
Today’s date: October 04, 2016
Report source (name and e-mail): Nata DAO Emmanuel emadeldao@yahoo.fr
Period covered by the activity:  September

ACTIVITY: Teaching.
History: There are two Church associations in Mali (AGEMPEM and AMEN REVEIL). The first and largest is composed of what is generally called, the traditional churches (i.e. churches stem from oversea missions), the second is referred to as ‘’national/independent churches’’. The two associations are not rivals, but they works separately as in a ‘’kind of rivalry’’.

Eglise épée de Dieu (God’s Sword Church) is a small local church, member of the second association and the pastor is President of the association. I finally ‘’made myself invited’’ to this church and shared with the Pastor-President on some issues such as Samaritan Strategy. Since I’ve been privileged to talk to the congregation, I contextualized The role of the church in society as The role of Eglise épée de Dieu in Doumanzana (Doumanzana is the area where this local church is). About 50 participated to the worship service. I appreciated the fact the church shared a meal after the service.
