SMALL GROUP TRAININGS FOR SEPTEMBER
The small group training in October held for five Sundays focusing on Stewardship. Participants were exposed to biblical meaning of true ownership and stewardship. We picked from the definition of stewardship as defined by John Edmond Haggai who said “stewardship is the practice of systematic and proportionate giving of time, abilities, material possessions – and all God’s gifts to us – based on the conviction that these are trusts from God to be used in His service, for the benefit of mankind in grateful acknowledgement of Christ’s redeeming love”. It was such an interesting subject that helped us to understand that whatever we have in life, we are not true owners but stewards. Participants were called upon to practice what they learned. It was indeed an exciting month as we recorded increase in the level of compliance with tithing.

DISCIPLINE OF LOVE
Baba Yahaya, one of the less privileged neighbour whom we reported concerning how we have assisted in some of our reports had one of his son down with high fever, but could not be taken to hospital as they could not afford the hospital bill. He called us one of the evenings and reported the case and pleaded for assistance. I and my husband immediately called one of the Doctor’s around (Dr Jairus).
He came around at once and took the vital signs of the boy and discovered that the body temperature was too high (45 degrees centigrade).
This could have led to convulsion but at the end the situation was curtailed and the young boy of between 12-14years is now well and is back to school. We paid for the medical bill and the whole family were full of appreciation. Even though they are Muslims but saw the demonstration of the love of Christ and were very happy. All glory to God.
EVANGELISM/RALLY FOR THE 16TH ANNIVERSARY OF AWESOME HOPE
The youth in the church were mobilized on the 22nd and 29th of October to go out and evangelised the community and also do a rally for the programme of the 16th anniversary of Awesome Hope. Church members volunteered their vehicles and a truck was hired to carry equipment and a portable generator.
Flyers were distributed and the whole community was informed about the programme. The youths excitedly took the challenge and did it successfully. Praise God. Jesus was announced to the community.
